I woke up and remembered what day it was.
Friday the 13th.
A lot of people see 13 and flinch. They treat it like a warning label. Like the universe is trying to tell them to drive slower and keep their hands inside the ride.
I get it. I’ve done my own superstition. I’ve knocked on wood. I’ve avoided a thing because it felt like tempting fate.
But I’ve never been able to hate 13.
At V13, we keep coming back to it because it names the kind of life we’re already living. The kind of work we’re already doing. Culture from the margins. Artists who don’t wait for the gate to open. Writers who don’t ask permission to tell the truth.
Thirteen is a calendar number that somehow got cast as a curse.
It’s the moon’s rough rhythm through a year. The count of cycles if you’re paying attention to the body and the tide and the way time actually feels, not just the way it looks in a corporate planner.
And it’s the tarot’s Death card.
That part matters.
Not because I’m trying to get mystical on you for sport. Because the logic is clean. If you want the next thing, you have to let the last thing die. A scene that used to mean everything dries up. A platform that once felt like a home turns into a mall. A version of you that kept you safe starts costing you too much.
You can cling. You can bargain. You can keep trying to resurrect what already ended.
Or you can change.
That’s 13.
So if the world wants to keep calling it bad luck, fine. Let them keep their safe numbers. Let them keep building their lives around the fear of disruption.
We’ll take the number that reminds us to shed skin, break spellwork, and stay loyal to the signal.
Let's get into it.
