Vita. Veritas. Vox Populi.

Welcome to V1LLAG3 Voice, the V13 Media Newsletter. Every Friday you’ll get our best music, entertainment, culture, and literature pieces: features, news, reviews, and more. C’est La V13.

It’s my birthday today and instead of spending it with friends and family I’m sitting alone in a basement writing on a laptop. And I couldn’t be happier.

My wife booked this weekend for me, an Airbnb in Toronto, from yesterday afternoon to this coming Sunday.

Pure, unfettered access to what I pine for the most: what I’m already doing right now.

Sometimes what you desire when you’ve just come away from something is more of that thing. It’s precisely what I envy of people who can lock into work for 16 hours a day (a la my boy Christopher Gonda) or the people who complain about putting 8 hours in with their 9-5. I wish I had 9-5. It’s more like 11-4, and that’s when I don’t have appointments, sick days, PD days, holidays, and a whole host of other reasons for having the kids and not being able to stick with this.

You’re probably thinking, okay great, so what?

My so what is that I know I should want to be surrounded by friends and family on my birthday, I should want a particular thing, and the fact is I don’t. Not right now.

Right now I’m riding high on having finished recording the last chapters of the audiobook version of The Cherale. From having written two scenes of Torturer, my upcoming project. From revamping every thumbnail on MAKE // BREAK and adding videos back to my first 8 episodes. From creating cover art and Spotify canvases for clients. From getting the time guilt-free to journal. And of course from getting to write this.

So don’t apologize for what you want. Just make a plan to make it happen. And on this day, my wish for you is that you are given the opportunity to do the same.

Let's get into it.

You put the work out. It got crickets.

Every Wednesday at 2PM EST, get 90 mins live with people who do this for a living — a publicist, a content strategist, a music-business operator, a publishing pro. The same people private clients pay $1,500–$3,000 a month to work with.

Bring one thing you're stuck on. Leave that same call with a straight answer you can act on. Not someday → this Wednesday.

Right now it's free. No card, no catch. It's free because we're in our founding chapter, building it with the first members — and the day pricing turns on, founding members keep the founding rate for life.

Worst case? You spend 90 minutes and walk out with more insights and professional feedback than you had going in.
