Vita. Veritas. Vox Populi.

Welcome to V1LLAG3 Voice, the V13 Media Newsletter. Every Friday, you’ll get some of our best music, entertainment, culture, and literature pieces. C’est la V13.

Last year, V13 turned twenty. This year, FiXT Music does the same. And this week, heartdea13r hits episode 100. Now I’m not saying the universe is sending a message, but we did point cameras at it just in case.

Klayton (aka Celldweller — Artist & Producer, Founder & CEO, FiXT) and James Rhodes (President & Co-Founder, FiXT) sat down with Christopher Gonda (CEO & Founder, V13 Media Group) and myself, Lance Marwood (President & Co-Founder, V13 Promo + V13 Press) to take apart two decades of building a label on 50/50 deals, artist ownership, and relationships that outlast contracts.

For scale: FiXT's catalogue has cleared 4 billion streams and 1,000+ sync placements (including the likes of John Wick, Deadpool, Call of Duty, Westworld, just to name a few), reaching listeners in 175+ countries. All of it built on a deal structure most labels would balk at.

What you'll hear:

  • Why a 50/50 split isn't charity, it's strategy

  • The failures that actually built FiXT (the useful kind of origin story)

  • Streaming fatigue, and why physical is quietly clawing its way back

  • Direct-to-fan as the industry's next chapter (and who isn't ready for it)

When we announced this partnership last year, we called it "twenty years in the making." Turns out we were early.
