Oh hi, it's me, Lance again.
Sometimes in life, you think you know what's best, and you make the plan. Of course, life cares not for your useless machinations or irrelevant hopes and dreams, and decides to hand you cataclysm upon cataclysm.
When life does that, we have a couple of options, really, if you boil it down to their most basic parts:
- Pivot
- Persist
And we can complain and we can thrash about as much as we like, but really, those are our options.
So, to bring this circuitous point full circle, Chris and I had a plan for him to take on the V1LLAG3 Voice. And life found us making plans and said, “Absolutely fucking not.”
So here I am, once again, for the foreseeable future. And do you know what?
I'm happy to pivot, because if there's anything I can do to make myself of service for Christopher Gonda, I’ll do it.
The dude works 25 hours a day, fielding literally thousands of emails a week. (That's not an exaggeration, by the way, he handles the entire inbox himself and there’s a quarter MILLION emails in his sent box). He has a smile on his face for pretty much every second of it because he loves it, and he has been doing it pretty much unpaid for over two decades.
So when the dude asks me if I could possibly take over the newsletter (that I started in the first place, don’t forget) so that he can get a few things off his plate, you best know that I was on that immediately.
I'd like you to think about the people in your world who constantly do right by you. I hope you can show them, in some meaningful way, an act of service, something that shows them that you love them.
