Vita. Veritas. Vox Populi.

Welcome to V1LLAG3 Voice, the V13 Media Newsletter. Every Friday, you’ll get some of our best music, entertainment, culture, and literature pieces. C’est la V13.

Time is the only thing that matters.

It’s the one non-negotiable throughout all of this. That and death. Death is a constant. Entropy is a reality. But time is its hourglass, far more important than its keen-edged scythe.

Time is the only thing that cannot be negotiated with.

Space? Man people are constantly messing about with space. Is there a river? Is there a bridge? Well, charge a toll at the bridge. Suddenly this thing is making money. Charge rent, move off the land, you don’t belong here, you’re taking up too much space, etc.

But time? They can buy your time, but they can’t make it go faster or slower. Time is what time is.

And we’ve got so little of it. Seriously. Your time on this earth is so precious. You don’t get it again, no matter your thoughts on an afterlife or reincarnation. THIS time is what you get, right here.

Your perception of time can change. The use of your time, obviously, is the most changeable thing. But the thing that’s true of you is true for everyone; time moves at the same pace that it does for everyone. So everyone has the same allotment. There’s a certain amount of time, and then you’re dead.

So since time is so limited, it is imperative that we respect people’s time. And yourselves. This is not something that is radical or crazy or some sort of guru bullshit. The golden rule of “treat people as you would like to be treated” is literally just that. Why?

Because our time is limited. So why don’t we treat each other well in a manner that is congruent with our own values and what we ourselves like, so that we can make the most of our time here?

We have a saying at V13: “Vita. Veritas. Vox populi.” Vita, meaning life. Veritas, meaning truth. And Vox Populi, the voice of the people.

Use your time on this earth, this life you’ve been given, to discover your truth, and voice that truth to others.

That’s what we’re here for. And I urge you to get to it.

Because our time here is very limited.

Let’s do this.
